The Zone
Over the past 18 months, we have been in contact with Primary Schools in the local area. It became clear that there was a need for an afterschool program for young people. In September 2021 we launched the Zone, a youth hub from years 3-9 every Monday from 4pm-5.30pm.
Our aim with The Zone is to provide a fun, safe and active environment for local children two evenings each week including games, dancing, sports and refreshments. The Zone after-school-club provides a positive and energising environment where children feel safe and secure. The activities are all fun, engaging and appeal to all children. We want them to feel affirmed, and their mental health to be supported. We provide early intervention, hoping to prevent things getting out of hand and stopping them needing more specialised interventions later.
